Lovely article and a nice surprise to see a picture of me in there! I actually think I get more out of volunteering than running at Parkrun and would encourage everyone to give it a go.
I read this just before I went down to Hillsborough parkrun and you summed it up perfectly! Only bit missing is that there are junior parkruns  of 2k on a Sunday at 9:00 for 4-14 year olds at Hillsborough Park, that I volunteer for, Olympic Legacy Park and Graves Park. Gets the kids running from an early age and personally, I find it the happiest hour of the week!! It’s just a pleasure seeing the effort and smiles children have every Sunday morning! Future full parkrunners.
