Interesting article. I was one of the trainee painter and decorators tasked with redecorating these flats for the student games. My arms ache now thinking about the titanic amount of dulux paint trays we went through. Our tutor, Bill Hamlin was a time served decorator but was also an ex copper. He was a fantastic guy, taking all us 'young uns' out in his transit van for a (much mithered for) day trip to Scarborough so we could see the Radio 1 Roadshow! Great times. :)
