The guy who interrupts the conversation between Paul and Anton in Josephines is called Emmanuel. He actually released a single called Ghetto Blaster in the early 90s, a catchy little number. Well I can remember the tune anyway, which is a good job as it doesn't seem to be on youtube.

Ahh interesting. Any idea what Emmanuel's second name is? Would love to try and find this song.

I can't remember I'm afraid (in fact I can't remember if I ever knew it) but I did an article on him for The Star when he did the single. Haven't seen him for a very long time but I'll ask around. The chorus was: "I'm gonna be your ghetto blaster, save the world from disaster..."

I've mentioned him on my Facebook page. I still know loads of people from the music scene in the 80s and 90s so if I manage to trace him I'll let you know.

Thanks for locating!

No problem Sophie. He had another couple of singles released as well. Haven't been able to trace the man himself though. I'd quite like to meet him again myself. He was quite a charismatic guy but nobody seems to know what's happened to him.

Yet another great article! I personally had never hard of "Tales From A Hard City" before, but having firstly read your piece, I hopped onto the Vimeo link, cast it from the app to my TV... and watched it all immediately! Brilliant stuff (article and documentary).

One of those odd coincidences... as I watched it I couldn't help but have a sense my path had crossed briefly with Wayne (Chadwick) in the past - and indeed it did (many moons ago I worked on developing some local radio station websites and if memory serves me Wayne either owned or had some involvement with the launch of then-named "Peak 107 fm" down in Chesterfield)!

In case anyone is wondering, he appears to be currently operating his own station (and shows on it) up in York: https://yo1radio.co.uk/team/wayne-chadwick/

Thanks again for another great article. I will be subscribing properly early doors in the new year! ~John.

and he mentions being in a "channel 4 docusoap" in his bio!

Yep. Perhaps not surprisingly he doesn't elaborate on his part in it..! Interesting character - he has also had more recent "fame" courtesy of a viral sensation from one of his other projects! (https://www.theyorkroastco.com/about/ - the "YorkyPud" !) ~John.
