Charles Peace was born in Angel Court off the Wicker and not Darnall.Conan Doyle practised as a Doctor in the area of Spital Hill Sheffield for a short period and no doubt heard of Charlie then if not before - he actually refers to Peace in one of his Holmes stories. Dyson's cottage at Banner Cross is still there but the site of the murder was turned into retail premises some years ago.Peace and the Dyson's lived in Britannia Road Darnall again the buildings were demolished years ago. There are some relics of Peace and a effigy in the Police and Fire Museum on West Bar though he was never in custody there.One of the Clegg family - instrumental in the Wednesday Football Club and Lord Mayor of Sheffield defended Peace at his trial.
